Who solved the hardest Mathematics question thinking that it was a Homework?

Once American mathematician, George Dantzig, during his studies at University of California - Berkeley was late to the lecture. At the end of the lecture he copied what was on the board thinking that it was a homework. He thought that this homework was harder than usual however after couple of days came up with the answer for the problem. In fact, he solved two "unsolvable" problems in statistics that couldn't get solved by many scientists for many years.
