Could a person have no fingerprints?


A very rare mutation in the gene SMARCAD1 could result dermatoglyphic error - a genetic error, which results the absence of fingerprints. There are only 4 families in the world that had been registered with such a case, a man in Switzerland failed to pass though the customs check, because she failed to pass the fingerprint analyses.

Who is James Harrison and how did he save more than 2 million lives of newborn babies?

A 75 year old Australian, James Harrison, during his life time donated blood more than 1000 times. The antibodies that he has in his rare blood group help to save lives of newborn babies with extreme forms of anemia. Because of his blood donations medics could save more than 2 million lives.
